NOTICE OF A CHANGE OF DATE FOR A PUBLIC MEETING

CONCERNING A COMPLETE APPLICATION

Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Greenstone has received an application to redesignate and  rezone lands  in the Geraldton Ward and will be holding a public meeting under Sections 17 and 34 of the Planning Act to consider the applications. The applications have been deemed to be complete for the purposes of Sections 17 and 34 of the Planning Act.  The meeting will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at 1800 Main Street, Geraldton, Ontario P0T 1M0. The original meeting is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Municipality.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT:  The purpose of official plan amendment is to redesignate lands from Urban Institutional to Urban Residential to permit the conversion of the former Masonic Lodge to an apartment building. The purpose of the corresponding rezoning is to change the permitted use of the lands from institutional to residential. The effect is to allow the conversion of the former Masonic Hall to an apartment building, a residential use which is permitted in the Residential Zone 5 (R5) Zone. The rezoning from the Institutional (I) Zone to the Residential (R5) Zone is on lands legally described as Lots 37 and 38, Plan M-113, Geraldton. The civic address is 211 Hogarth Avenue West, Geraldton. (see Key Map).

TAKE NOTICE that if you wish to be notified of the decision of The Municipality of Greenstone on the proposed official plan amendment or zoning by-law amendment, you must make a written request to the Director of Planning & Protective Services at the address below.
