Community Centres

The Municipality of Greenstone has a variety of community centres that host recreation programs and community events. Explore the facilities and amenities and learn how to rent a facility for your next event.

 

Rentals

If you'd like to rent one of our community centre facilities, please contact the Recereation Department at 807-854-1100 ext. 2061 and we can provide you with the availability and rental fees.

 

CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The Municipality of Greenstone invites qualified food service providers to submit an Expression of Interest for Canteen Operators. The Community Centres in Geraldton and Longlac are equipped with a canteen facility. The opportunity to operate one or more of the canteens for the upcoming 2025-2026 winter season (approximately October to April) is solicited. Hours of operation of the canteen(s) are to coincide with the winter schedule for each Community Centre. The provision for enhanced services during tournaments or special events is requested. 

If you are interested in providing this service, please read the Expression of Interest - Canteens for more details and submission instructions. Submission deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Beardmore Community Centre

The Beardmore Community Centre is located at 100 Main Street in Beardmore. The facility offers an ice rink and three curling sheets during the winter. The Beardmore Community Centre is currently for public use at this time. Please check this page when the facility will be open again to the general public.

During the winter months, the facility is open at the following times:

  • Sunday – closed
  • Monday – closed
  • Tuesday to Friday – open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday - open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The facility is closed during the summer months.

The Beardmore Community Centre includes the following amenities:

  • Arena with ice surface
  • 4 large change rooms
  • Public lounge
  • 3 sheets of curling ice
  • Kitchen
  • Hall (upstairs)

Geraldton Community Centre

The Geraldton Community Centre is located at 200 Wardrope Avenue in Geraldton. The facility offers an ice rink, curling sheets and more.

The Geraldton Community Centre is open year-round.

Winter hours

During the winter, we're open at the following times:

  • Sunday – closed
  • Monday to Friday – open 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday – open 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Summer hours

During the summer, we are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for user groups and rentals.

The Geraldton Community Centre offers the following amenities:

  • Arena with ice surface
  • 5 change rooms
  • 4 sheets of curling ice
  • Lounge
  • Kitchen
  • Hall (upstairs)
  • Seniors Activity Centre

Longlac Sportsplex

The Longlac Sportsplex is located at 200 Picnic Point Road in Longlac. The facility has an ice rink and curling sheets.

The Longlac Sportsplex is open year-round.

Winter hours

During the winter, we're open at the following times:

  • Sunday – Closed
  • Monday to Friday – open 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Saturday – open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Summer hours

During the summer, we are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for rentals.

The Longlac Sportsplex offers the following amenities:

  • Arena with ice surface
  • 5 change rooms
  • 4 sheets of curling ice
  • Lounge
  • Kitchen

Upstairs the facility has a:

  • Hall
  • Bar
  • Washrooms

Nakina Community Centre

The Nakina Community Centre is located at 206 North Avenue in Nakina. The facility offers an ice rink and curling ice as well an exercise room and more.

The Nakina Community Centre is open year-round.

Winter hours

During the winter, we're open at the following times:

  • Sunday – closed
  • Monday – closed
  • Tuesday to Friday – open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday – open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Summer hours

During the summer, we're open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for rentals or use of the gym.

The Nakina Community Centre has the following amenities:

  • Arena with ice surface
  • 4 change rooms
  • Public lounge with a bar
  • 3 sheets of curling ice
  • Kitchen
  • Exercise rooms
