Ontario Senior of the Year Award

Each year the Province of Ontario accepts nominations from Municipalities for the Ontario Senior of the Year Award. This award recognizes individuals over the age of 65 who enriches the social, cultural or civic life of the community. Up to 20 individuals are recognized each year.

Community Clean-Up Challenge Winners

The Municipality of Greenstone would like to thank all participants of the 2024 Community Clean-Up Challenge! There were 36 entries, with 133 people participating (not all entrants chose to submit a picture)!
A random draw of the entries was done and the winners are listed below.

Water Tower Update - Sandblasting Begins

Sandblasting will begin on the Water Tower in Geraldton on Friday, June 28. Residents can expect to hear intermittent loud noise from the compressor required for the sand blasting between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The sand blasting is expected to be completed within two weeks and will be followed by painting.
It has been approximately 30 years since the exterior of the towers were last painted, so this $3,000,000 project is necessary to ensure their integrity for the coming years.

EarlyON Temporary Closure - Geraldton Ward

We regret to announce that the EarlyON Child and Family Centre Program in the Geraldton Ward will be closed for the month of July. This closure is necessary to ensure the continued operations of the Geraldton Day Care. EarlyON staff will be working temporarily in the Day Care to meet Ministry requirements for qualifications and ratios.
