The Snow Windrow Removal Program is available to help senior or disabled residents with clearing snow from residential driveway entrances left behind from a snowplow.
How to apply
Fill out the Application for Snow Windrow Removal Service form.
You will need to apply annually for this service. Applications or renewal applications can be submitted after July 1 to continue service in the new year. The program runs from January to December, with service expiring on December 31.
Program eligibility
To qualify for this program, you need to be:
- A resident of the Municipality of Greenstone; and
- A senior over the age of 65 or disabled resident with proof of disability
Please note
This service is intended for qualifying residents who do not live with someone who can remove the snow.
How the program works
We provide help to senior or disabled individuals who are not physically able to clear snow that blocks a driveway, boulevard or sidewalk. After municipal roads are cleared, we will:
- Clear one entrance per primary property only
- Remove snow from roadway entrance the width of one car to allow access
- Aim to remove snow within 48 hours
We do not clear snow from your entire driveway, just from the entrance where snow windrow can build up from the plow. Service timeline will depend on how quickly staff can clear municipal roads.
