Property owners within the Municipality of Greenstone need to pay annual property taxes. Learn how to pay your property taxes, or review your property assessment. Billing
Property tax bills are sent out twice a year. An interim bill is issued in February that is calculated on taxes from your previous year. The final bill is issued in July.
Property tax due dates
Payment is due in four installments with an interest penalty of 1.25% per month on any unpaid balance. Property taxes are due on the following dates:
Interim Billings:
- First installment - Last business day in February
- Second installment - Last business day in April
Final Billings:
- First Installment - Last business day in July
- Second Installment - Last business day in September
If you did not receive your tax bill
Contact the Tax Department to get a copy of your bill. If payment is not made because a bill was not received, you will need to pay a late penalty.
Tax bills are sent to property owners at your last known address. If you move, please update your property address and Post Office Box number with the Tax Department.
Supplementary tax bills
A supplementary tax bill will be issued for properties that are newly constructed or have had additions or improvements. After Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) assesses your new home or improvement, these bills will be issued. Due dates will vary based on notification from MPAC.
