The Municipality of Greenstone provides Commissioner of Oaths services through the Office of the Clerk for documents like oaths, affidavits and statutory declarations. The Municipality of Greenstone does not have a Notary Public and cannot notarize documents.

Commissioner services are provided at the Municipality of Greenstone Administration, Longlac and Beardmore Ward Offices during regular office hours. Contact us to book an appointment for this service.
Fee

- Commissioning fee (regular) – $20.00 plus HST
- Commissioning fee (real estate) – $40.00 plus HST
What you will need
The signing of the affidavit must be completed in the presence of the Commissioner with the following:
- Government photo identification with signature (driver's license, passport or other government issued photo ID)
- The completed affidavit with the exception of the signature
- The signing of the affidavit must be completed in the presence of the Commissioner
If you are signing the document, it is your responsibility to ensure all details are true and correct.

- Vehicle transfers
- Change of ownership
- Insurance claims
- Death information applications as prescribed by statue
- Pension plan documents
- Certification of identifiable individual's signature
- Any government-related forms
- Marriage license related documentation

- Real estate documents
- Consent to travel
The Commissioner will not sign documents relating to:
- Wills and living wills
- Powers of Attorney
- Divorce, separation or custody agreements
- Documents requiring signature of a Notary Public
We reserve the right to refuse commissioning services of any document. All Commissioning Services for the Municipality of Greenstone are required to comply with the Commissioner of Oaths and Affidavits Policy By-Law 18-37 as well as the Commissioners for taking Affidavits Act.
