Council approved By-Law 22-63 being a by-law to regulate the placement of signs in the Municipality of Greenstone on July 11, 2022.
Use of Corporate Resources Policy
Council approved Policy 22-35 on April 11, 2022 to establish rules concerning the use of corporate resources for election purposes. The Act prohibits a municipality from making a contribution to a candidate. It also prohibits a candidate, or someone acting on the candidate's behalf, from accepting a contribution from a person who is not entitled to make a contribution.
Nomination process
Nominations for the 2022 - 2026 Council term are now closed. The deadline to file a nomination for this term was at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022. Nomination information for the 2026 - 2030 Council term will be provided in Spring of 2026.

Withdrawal of Candidacy |
If you decide to withdraw from the election, you must notify the Clerk in writing no later than 2 p.m. on nomination day. If you withdraw before nomination day, you can receive a refund for the nomination filing fee. You are still required to submit a completed financial disclosure that covers all financial transactions made up to the date the nomination was withdrawn. If you fail to withdraw before 2 p.m. on nomination day, your name will appear on the ballot. |

Campaign Finances |
All nominated candidates for the 2022 municipal and school board elections, including those not elected, those who withdrew their nomination and those whose nomination was rejected by the Clerk, must disclose and report their campaign contributions and expenses for their election campaign period as determined by the rules set out in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. No contributions shall be accepted or expenses made prior to filing your nomination. A campaign bank account must be opened for election campaign purposes prior to spending money or accepting contributions. All contributions of money, including contributions from yourself, must be deposited in the campaign account. All campaign expenses must be paid from the campaign account.
