If you're in immediate danger and need support, please call 911. The Geraldton Family Resource Centre is a ten bed women's shelter in the Municipality of Greenstone and we are open 24/7 year round. This Centre offers women and children support and a safe place to stay.

Safe housing and support
We offer short term safe housing for women and children who are leaving an abusive relationship or environment.
Safety planning
We offer safety planning services that will help protect you and the safety of your children from an abusive relationship. We work with you to create a safe plan, so you feel more prepared to protect yourself, or leave an unsafe situation. We can also provide support after you leave the relationship so you can ensure you and your children stay safe.
Community based advocacy and court accompaniment
If you find yourself in a place where you're not comfortable or not able to speak, we have staff who can help speak on your behalf. We provide confidential services including:
- Helping you to navigate the court system
- Accompanying you to court
- Strategizing your safety and addressing your well-being
Group work for children and women
We provide group work with children who have been exposed to women abuse. This includes concurrent groups for mothers who experience violent or abusive situations.
We also provide group work for women. This includes:
- Support groups for women who express a need
- After care follow-ups for women who are leaving the shelter
Counselling services
We have trained staff who provide general counselling services for women and children to help improve their well-being. We provide support, guidance, and a listening ear so that you can address and resolve any problems you may be experiencing.
Outreach services
We offer the following outreach services to women who are in transition and may be contemplating leaving an abusive relationship or environment, or have left the relationship:
- Safety planning and advocacy
- Support
- Resources
- Long and short-term goal planning
We also offer the following outreach services to the Greenstone community:
- Community programs, on a request base, presentations on safety, budgeting, self enhancement, parenting, anger management, healthy relationships and any other request identified
- Information sessions
- Workshop design, planning, implementation, and facilitation school workshops
- Request from clients, self-referrals, professionals, and agencies
