Notice of By-Pass Event

This notice is to advise that the Municipality of Greenstone had 3 by-pass events that concluded on April 14 and April 15 in the Longlac Ward. These events were due to heavy flows caused by quick thawing of snow and ice.

These events posed no harm to residents and this notice is for public information only.

A by-pass event, a occurs when wastewater is diverted around part of a municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) due to excessive flow, typically during heavy rain or snowmelt. This diversion helps protect the treatment plant and prevent backups or flooding, but the bypass discharge may not receive full treatment before being released into the environment.
